Public School Teachers’ Experiences with AI-Enhanced Teaching

This proposed qualitative study will examine how secondary school teachers in a Nigerian public school experience and make sense of integrating AI tools into their classroom practice. Five teachers will participate in two rounds of individual semi-structured interviews exploring their perceptions, challenges, and evolving instructional strategies. Interview data will be analyzed using thematic analysis in NVivo to identify key themes related to teacher learning, classroom implementation, and perceived impacts on student engagement. The study aims to deepen understanding of AI integration in resource-constrained educational settings and to inform contextually relevant professional development for teachers.
